Start Pumping Your Fist: Jersey Shore Is Coming Back — With a Twist

Snooki, The Situation, and all your other faves will return for a Jersey Shore reunion in 2018.

After Show: The Jersey Shore Impact

We knew Jersey Shore nostalgia was in the air when MTV introduced Floribama Shore. The new show has a familiar format: it focuses on a group of friends partying it up at a summer house, though this cast (sadly) has no one named Snooki. But MTV had a surprise in store during Floribama Shore's November 27 premiere: the network announced that Jersey Shore — that's right, the OG — will be back in 2018. And yes: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, and all our other deeply tanned friends will be appearing on the hotly anticipated series.

Since MTV stopped airing Jersey Shore in 2012, the cast that loved to GTL (that'd be gym, tan, laundry) has grown up, and many of the pals have started families of their own. So the new series will have a "family vacation" theme.

Truth be told, we're not sure whether the "family" in question refers to the original Jersey Shore cast or whether spouses and kids will also appear on the series. But for now, we're just doing fist pumps knowing that the show will return at all, in whatever form it takes on.

And, it seems that the cast is just as eager for the comeback as we are. Earlier this month, Sorrentino put out a tweet urging MTV to bring back the show.

And on that same day, Polizzi let fans know that she can still funnel wine with the best of 'em.

Though the network has yet to announce an official premiere date, we'll have our own wine funnels on hand for that blessed event. And in the meantime, we're sure the brand new Twitter account devoted to the show will bring us plenty of updates on our fist-pumping pals.
