Get Ready to Gym, Tan, Laundry Again: A Jersey Shore Reunion Has Been Confirmed
A new special on E! will reunite the older, wiser, tanner original cast.
Remember the simpler times of 2009? When the trucker hats were leopard print, orange was the new tan, and the only healthcare debate you really cared about was whether that Jersey Shore hot tub had ever been cleaned?
Well get ready to bring on the nostalgia, because E! is reuniting the original cast of MTV’s mega-hit Jersey Shore in the pilot season of their new series Reunion Road Trip. A source has confirmed that Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, DJ Pauly D, Deena Cortese, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are all on board for the show which will feature the older and wiser pals, revisiting their old haunts and catching up on each other’s lives five years after the series’ final season.
Snooki stirred up rumors of a reunion a few weeks ago with several Snaps of the cast featuring the very enigmatic hashtag #JerseyShoreReunion, and the Situation confirmed the, er, situation to ET, saying, “There definitely is a reunion-style situation coming. I mean, 100%. Everyone is just so excited to be working together again.”
Sure, the crew has two spouses, one fiancé, and five children between them now, but a new Burger King commercial -- which also featured cast members Sammy “Sweetheart” Giancola and Vinny Guadagnino -- has proven that their tans are still on fleek, the hair is still big, and the conversation is still catchphrase-worthy (just watch Snooki compare motherhood to having a hangover).
Besides revealing that the crew are on an epic group text together, the Situation also confirmed that he’s planning to propose to his longtime on-again/off-again girlfriend Lauren and then “work on a little Situation” of his own. “I mean, Snooki has two kids, Jenni has two kids, and I believe Pauly has one as well. So, I kind of want to throw my hat in the ring here 'cause they’d have some really cool aunts and uncles,” he said.
And he knows just who to go to for parenting advice, too. “I would definitely take [baby] advice from Snooki and Jenni. They are awesome mothers. I would just love for all the kids to hang out together and grow up together. It would be awesome!”
Does that mean there’s a Jersey Shore Jr. in our near future?
Future seasons of Reunion Road Trip are expected to feature other casts of both scripted and unscripted shows, though none have been announced yet.
