This Is Why Andy Cohen Kept Jill Zarin's RHONY Cameo a Secret — Even From Her
The #WWHL host dishes on the #RHONY alum's big return.
Listen: No one was as surprised as Jill Zarin to see herself pop up in the trailer for the upcoming new season of The Real Housewives of New York City. We mean no one. But there was a really good reason why Andy Cohen kept the cameo under wraps.
"Jill is a Yenta! She likes to talk, and I didn't want her telling anyone that she was in the super tease," he recently told AOL, adding that "Yes! You didn't see that coming, right?"
Well, we all didn't, and the surprise definitely paid off for everyone, including the RHONY pal. "I think it was better that way, actually. She emailed me that morning, and she was like, 'My phone is blowing up! I had no idea!' It was great ... I just wanted it to come out [in the trailer]."
Jill won't be featured much this upcoming season, but Andy noted that it was fun to welcome the alum back to the series. "Well, she only appears once or twice. It's fun, and it's great to have her back! Look, I love Jill, and she's obviously part of the reason the show is as successful as it is. She's an original, and I told her 1,000 times, 'Do not tell a soul that you're doing this! Keep your mouth shut!' But, it's going to be great," he said. "The truth of the matter is that we didn't tell Jill that she was in the super tease, because we wanted it to be a surprise to everyone..."
RHONY returns April 5 at 9/8c. Check out the trailer above, and catch up on the Season 8 drama, below.
