A Bravo Exec Says She Wishes We Had "a Few More Years" with this Real Housewife of Orange County
This O.C. O.G., who was "so young on the show," is the one who got away.
Who doesn't love a "Where are they now?" update? When Real Housewives decide to leave, fans are left wanting to know what their favorite alums are up to. If fans are lucky, sometimes the 'Wives return to reality television. Other times, they go on to live quiet lives away from the cameras. When you've spent as many seasons working on Bravo shows as Senior Vice President of Current Production, Kathleen French, you've seen many a Bravolebrity come and go. And just like all relationships, there is always that one who got away — the Bravoleb you wish had chosen to live her life in front of the lights and cameras just a little longer. On The Daily Dish podcast, French told hosts Rachael Roberts and Megan Segura about the one Housewife she wishes fans had more time with: Jo De La Rosa.
For those who may not remember, Jo De La Rosa entered the Bravo world in Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Orange County when she was then engaged to Slade Smiley. Fans saw Jo for two seasons in the O.C. and then on her own dating spinoff, Date My Ex: Jo & Slade.
For French, Jo was someone she'd wished stuck around for another season or two. "She was so young on the show," she explained. "I wish we had a few more years with her so we [could see] her grow into the person that she probably is now."
Where is Jo now? She has mostly continued a life out of the spotlight. As of 2016, Jo was working in advertising and in the process of launching her own beauty and lifestyle site.
Jo's life journey is interesting to French because of its shift in direction. "It's like being an astronaut; you go to the moon, then you come back and you're, like, working in advertising," she said. "I know, I know, I just compared being a Housewife to going to the moon."
