John Mayer Watched Katy Perry's 96-Hour Live Stream, Even Though It Was "Definitely Odd"
The singer admitted on #WWHL that he tuned in to her "big and bold" experiment.
According to his BFF Andy Cohen, it doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to know that John Mayer's most recent album is about his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry. So when she celebrated the release of her current album Witness with a 96-hour livestreamed event that included therapy, music, sleeping, and much more, it's only natural that John would be curious and check at least some of it out. But he was diplomatic about what he thought.
"I think you have to watch all 96 hours to come up with a final verdict," he said with a straight face on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
He thought it seemed like a natural experiment for Katy: "That's her thing is to go big and bold and yeah I checked in with it. It's definitely odd to watch your ex-girlfriend asleep," he admitted.
Andy suggested that it would almost be weirder if he didn't watch it at all.
"I call it 'stand in the middle of the boat,'" he said of his quest for honesty. "If someone says, 'I don't watch that,' it's like, 'Yes, you do' ... be human about it."
Well, there you have it. Watch the clip to find out the reason he recently sent Katy a text in the middle of the night.
