Jules Wainstein Offers Up an Apology to Sonja Morgan for Her "Elderly" Comments
The #RHONY newbie is getting the hang of this 'Wife thing.
Jules Wainstein may be new to The Real Housewives of New York City, but she's certainly proving that she can hold her own among this tough bunch of Manhattanites. Case in point: her apology to Sonja Morgan concerning her "elderly" comments on Wednesday night's episode of RHONY had a bit of a bite to it (clip above).
Jules was taken aback by the fighting at Dorinda Medley's bra party that continued at the beginning of Wednesday night's episode. "I have a total different aspect of these girls," she said during an interview. "I've never seen fighting like that, especially like, the elderly. Like, I thought that maybe they would be a little bit more mature."
It seems that Jules felt bad about what she said, so she called in to the Watch What Happens Live After Show to apologize to Sonja, even though she actually wasn't present at the event. After Sonja joked that she should "get my wheelchair out," and Jules said she "would look great with a pimp cane," she apologized to all of the RHONY 'Wives for the comment saying, "Anyway, I wanted to say I didn't mean to offend anybody. I love all of my elderly friends."
Sonja wasn't so sure that was actually an apology. "She's just getting in deeper," she said in response.
Andy Cohen also thought the apology sounded a little shady. "It's an apology with an insult," he said. "It's very Housewivian."
But then Jules sincerely apologized for her joke that went awry. "No, I love everybody. It was a joke, my humor. I'm funny. I kid," she said.
She also had what she considered a "very important" question for Sonja. "Do you think I look old?" Jules asked her castmate.
Of course, Sonja could have read Jules right back, but instead, she responded to her query like a class act. "I thought you looked great this episode with no makeup at her home," she told Jules. "And I loved the way you recited the [Sabbath] prayer. I was very impressed with that. The Hawaiian Punch and doughnuts works for me. I love tradition. I thought that was very, very nice."
Jules said "Shabbat shalom" [Hebrew for "Sabbath of peace"] to that, and Sonja said she accepted her apology. And all was right with the world. Well, that is until next week's episode of RHONY.
