Ramona Singer Offers Support for Jules Wainstein Following Divorce Announcement
The #RHONY veteran says she's "very saddened" for her friend following the news of her split.
This week, Jules Wainstein confirmed to The Daily Dish that she and her husband, Michael Wainstein, are divorcing after eight years of marriage. The split came after she discovered he was cheating on her. Now, The Real Housewives of New York City rookie is getting support from her Big Apple crew in the wake of the surprising news.
"I'm very saddened for Jules. I know her heart's broken. It's never easy when there are problems in a marriage, especially when you realize you need to divorce and I'm there for her," Ramona Singer told E! News. "She's doing as well as she can in the situation and her priority— because she is such a great mother—are her two children. I think Jules was totally shocked by what happened and was very disappointed and it's sad. It's just very sad."
In fact, Ramona, who also went through a divorce in the public eye, plans to be there for Jules as much as possible to help her through this difficult time. "I believe in girls' code. Girls help other girls and I know I'm going to be there so much for her," she said. "I've already spoken a number of times with her and I plan to meet with her and just be there to support her in any way I can."
And, she notes, that despite the arguments the women get into on the series, at the end of the day, they always have each others' backs when the going gets rough. "I think anyone has the strength to get through anything if they have good friends and I think through the show, we may beat each other up sometimes verbally, but I know we're all there for her," she said. "We're going to support her 100 percent plus."
Jules and Michael are the parents to two children, Jagger, 5, and Rio, 2. Sonja Morgan also addressed the divorce news — and the parents' commitment to their family — in a statement to E! News. "Having gone through a high profile divorce myself I hope people will respect the Wainstein's privacy during this difficult time," Sonja said. "There are small children involved and both are loving parents who want the best for their children as does the entire family. They are a close knit bunch and my heart goes out to them."
In addition to confirming the split in a statement, Jules also further addressed the divorce in her RHONY cast blog this week. "Truth is that it's too easy to get caught up in your own reality, especially when you are blindsided and betrayed by someone who is supposed to be a partner and friend. I'm trusting and open, but I'm also strong and practical. This isn't the end of the world, it's just a big bump in the road, but I'll get over it and I'll be stronger for it," she wrote. "I've got my kids, my family, my friends, my business, Modern Alkeme, and while my heart might be broken, it's still good as gold."
