The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom hit up Instagram on July 1 to reflect on a major career milestone with XSCAPE, the all-girls singing group she formed in the early 1990s. The post came just a day after Kandi and her fellow XSCAPE members, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and Tamika Scott, headlined the R&B Music Experience concert at Brooklyn’s famed Barclays Center. Kandi celebrated the sold-out event by sharing performance footage and behind-the-scenes clips that featured her friends and family.

The video began with a shot of XSCAPE dressed in matching sequined ensembles as they prepared to kick off their show. The post provided a closer look at the backstage hustle and bustle, as it showed the members surrounded by their respective teams and a few of their children.

Tiny’s daughter Heiress Diana Harris was seen jumping up and down while hyping her mom up with some words of encouragement: “Mommy, it’s your season!” the little girl shouted.

“It is my season, poo!” Tiny responded, before giving Heiress a high-five.

Seconds later, the camera panned to Kandi, who was standing nearby with her youngest kids, 7-year-old son, Ace, and 3-year-old daughter, Blaze, whom she shares with her husband, Todd Tucker.

The post then cut to XSCAPE performing their 1993 hit “Just Kickin’ It,” co-produced by Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal. And as many of you expected, the ladies absolutely killed it. Their choreography was on point, their vocals were solid, and their energy with the crowd was nothing short of amazing.

R&B Experience previously stopped in the Bay Area and Jacksonville, Florida, with varying performance lineups. XSCAPE headlined the first two shows alongside Tyrese; however, they were the only top bill for the NYC gig, which featured performances by 112, Tevin Campbell, Mya, Silk, Ginuwine, and H-Town.

Kandi thanks her fans and team for making the concert possible

“Thank You New York! There are no words to express how much [Kandi, Tamika, Tiny, XSCAPE] Loves and Thank you for Always Kicking It With Us!!” the caption read. “My second home!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank you!! When I tell you [Heiress] was so on point with her words of wisdom, yes poo!”

The caption went on to shout out Global Events Production — a promoter for R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and Latin music — as well as the participating musical acts. It also acknowledged XSCAPE’s behind-the-scenes team that made the event possible: “… hair, makeup, Wardrobe, dancers, production and everyone that keeps the Xscape Train on the tracks! We Love and appreciate you all!!!”

Celebrity stylist A’leah Marshal also shared a photograph of her and her “bosses” Ace, Blaze, and Heiress backstage.

“These three are my main Bosses!!” she captioned the adorable snap. “This who [I] work for!! I’m enjoying watching them grow up! I can’t wait to see their personalities as they get older!!”
