Kandi Burruss Defends Todd Tucker with “No Shade” and “All Facts”

Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta didn't get off to a great start for Kandi Burruss' husband Todd Tucker and her onetime bestie Phaedra Parks. Todd still had a bit of resentment toward Phaedra for not paying him in full for the production of her workout DVD. The two seemed to take care of business and resolve their differences during Sunday night's episode of RHOA, but Kandi is still on the defensive when it comes to Todd's reputation.

Kandi tried to clear up the spat between Todd and Phaedra in a lengthy post on Instagram following the episode. Though some have taken Todd's persistence in asking Phaedra to pay him back as desperation for money, Kandi pointed out that Todd has served as executive producer on three shows that aired in 2015 (Kandi's Ski Trip on Bravo, the My Super Sweet Sixteen episode featuring Reginae Carter on MTV, and Hollywood Divas on TV One). "We're trying to move past this petty bs about this workout DVD but it's always tough to watch the drama play out today over things we've supposedly worked out already," Kandi wrote. "My husband is great at what he does & he's been successful at it. People always talk sh** on this show but I hate when they try to discredit him with lies."

Kandi went on to explain where Todd was coming from in the situation. "Todd & Phaedra talked years ago when she was pregnant with Dylan about him helping her with production for her pregnancy DVD. He was doing it as a friend because he said they could do it way cheaper than the company she worked with on her 1st workout DVD. She approved the budget & she paid the first 2 payments but never paid the third for whatever reason. This was well before Apollo [Nida] went to jail. Todd sent final invoice emails but there was just excuses & no payment. I told him not to worry about it & give her time. But now years have passed. You know how it is when you have a friend who owes you money but they come around with new sh** all the time but never mentions your money... That's why he was irritated."

In the end, Kandi believes Todd gave Phaedra a fair amount of time to reimburse him for shooting the DVD — maybe even too much. "Todd was never being mean or disrespectful to her. He always remained cordial," Kandi said. "The video was shot & finalized in 2013. She was [sic] suppose to give him the photo she wanted to put on the DVD menu & final payment back then.... It's 2016 people. I hope this gives y'all some clarity. #NoShade #AllFacts."

Phaedra has yet to respond to Kandi's account of what went down between herself and Todd. However, it looks like the drama between these two hasn't been completely resolved on RHOA either.
