As you might recall, back in 2017 Kandi Burruss earned herself a songwriting credit on Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You," after similarities were heard between that track and TLC's "No Scrubs," the iconic song she co-wrote with Tameka "Tiny" Harris and Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs. Well, two years later, more good news to report on the "Shape of You" front: Sheeran confirmed that the song is now diamond-certified, which means that the Divide single has moved at least 10 million equivalent units since it hit the streets. (Applause emojis all around!)
“My song 'Shape Of You' is now diamond in the US!” the British singer/songwriter shared. “Thanks to everyone who’s downloaded or streamed it.”
When Kandi stopped by The Daily Dish offices a while back, she spilled tea on Ed, as you can see in the video above.
Speaking of "No Scrubs," the track is getting a lot of attention this week as it was also covered by Weezer and featured on their new album, The Teal Album, which has people feeling things apparently. Like, many emotions.
And that's not all! Kandi teased that she may have something to do with Ariana Grande's next hotly-anticipated album, Thank U, Next, due out next month. The Real Housewives of Atlanta singer/songwriter shared the tracklist on Instagram with the caption: "I’m forever thankful for my blessings."
The Daily Dish has reached out for more info and will update fans as soon as we hear back about Kandi's involvement. But she is kind of busy what with Celebrity Big Brother and all.
Oh, yeah, here's Kandi belting out "No Scrubs" for you.
