Kandi Burruss Explains What Exactly 'Kandi Koated' Means

"It's like I want to candy-coat your ears," the Housewife says of her album's moniker.

Your wait is almost over: Kandi Burruss' album "Kandi Koated" officially drops at midnight. "I am following people ALL week, starting TOMORROW," The Real Housewives of Atlanta star tweeted this afternoon. "I want u guys to tweet me photos when u get #KANDIKOATED!!!! 12/14!!"

By now, you're well acquainted with the "Kandi Koated" name (if not through promotion for the album, then certainly through the 'Wife's Kandi Koated Nights sex and relationship advice show). But beyond consistent branding, why did the Grammy-winning writer double dip on the name for her latest musical offering. "If you have ice cream and you put a candy-coated topping on it, it's like you took something that was good and you made it that much better," Kandi reveals to TheBoomBox.com. "When I say 'Kandi Koated,' it's like I want to candy-coat your ears. I want to, you know, make something that much sweeter when you listen to it."

There you have it, and if all goes as Kandi's planned, you'll be humming tracks from this album for years to come.

"The music that I'm doing now, I feel like it's timeless, it's classic, it's real R&B," she says. Where are you, Xscape fans? If you remember dancing around your bedroom to "Just Kickin' It" and "Can't Hang," get ready to relive those days sans the neon scrunchies.

"I was thinking about my group Xscape," the single mom explains about making the album. "That's the sound that I wanted to recreate with this album. I wanted to make a classic album that I could play it 10 years from now and still say 'Ooh, I love that song.'"

No need to wait 10 years -- you can pre-order "Kandi Koated" now.
