Kandi Burruss on Baby Ace: "He's the Most Handsome Guy in the World"
The #RHOA mom exclusively opens up to The Daily Dish about life with the newborn.
Kandi Burruss might be a little biased, but she can't help but gush about her son Ace Wells Tucker. "He's the most handsome guy in the world!!!" The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom exclusively told The Daily Dish via email. But she's not the only one in awe of the baby boy: Daddy Todd Tucker has been doting on his new son as well. "He's enjoying him. He just stares at him all the time saying, 'We have a son.' And I'm like, 'Yes, we do!!'" Kandi added.
Raising a boy is a new experience for Kandi, who has a teenage daughter, Riley, from a previous relationship. And there's one thing that's surprised her the most: "How often [boys] pee on you.... He's gotten me so many times," she explained. Kandi opened up about preparing for baby Ace during her pregnancy, and she and Todd attended a parenting refresher course together (as seen on RHOA). Still, there are some things she's had to adjust to the second time around. "[I'm] getting comfortable breastfeeding again," she explained.
The parents have been surrounded by friends and family in the weeks since Ace was born, including Married To Medicine's "awesome" Dr. Jackie, who was Kandi's doctor, as well as Riley and her stepsister Kaela. "They adore him and they are both very helpful," Kandi said. Mama Joyce has also been on hand to do whatever she can to assist. "She loves Ace. She comes over and cooks for us," Kandi explained. "She has offered to babysit whenever I need her to."
Following Ace's birth on January 6, Kandi's pals, including her RHOA castmates, have showered the family with gifts. "Everyone has reached out and been so supportive. The ladies have bought strollers, breast pumps. They all gave me really nice gifts for Ace," Kandi said. "Kim Fields gave me a personalized fictional book for Ace that had his name in it. I thought it was really cool and unique. She also sent t-shirts with his initials monogrammed on all of them."
Below Kandi opens up a bit more about what it's been like to become a mom again.
