Kandi Burruss is speaking out for the first time following a shooting that left three people injured at her restaurant, Old Lady Gang, located just outside of Atlanta. According to police, a man opened fire in the Southern eatery on February 14, targeting one man and also wounding two bystanders. All three victims are expected to recover from the non-life-threatening injuries.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, who co-owns the restaurant with husband Todd Tucker, released a statement on Instagram on February 15, writing, “My family and I are truly saddened by the unfortunate events that occurred at Old Lady Gang (OLG) Camp Creek, on the evening of February 14th, an evening that was meant to celebrate love, unfortunately turned into something quite different.”

She went on to state, “Our prayers and thoughts go out to the individuals that were harmed or in any way negatively impacted. We are aware that this matter is being actively investigated by law enforcement and we are cooperating with law enforcement to bring to justice those involved.”

The names and ages of the people injured in the shooting weren't immediately released. As of February 15, the East Point Police Department did not have the shooter in custody and were still looking for information.

“As African-American business owners, it has been our goal to invest in our community by bringing jobs, quality dining, and a positive experience to the greater Atlanta area; we hope that you know and understand that the acts of violence that occurred yesterday evening do not, in any way, serve as a reflection of OLG or its values,” Burruss concluded in her statement. “We appreciate all of the love and prayers that have come our way and we encourage anyone with any information regarding any aspects of the events that occurred to please reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible.”

Burruss and Tucker founded the Old Lady Gang restaurant chain in 2016. It has since expanded to include three locations around Atlanta, including the original Peters Street branch, the East Point locale, and an outpost at the Atlanta Hawks' home, State Farm Arena.
