Kate Chastain's New Book Reveals Everything About Her Life Before Below Deck
We wonder what font the #BelowDeck chief stew used in her memoir.
Kate Chastain is such an exceptional chief stew on Below Deck, it seems like she was born for the yacht life. However, even sea goddesses have to start somewhere, and now Kate is spilling all the details about her life in the yachting biz in her new book, Lucky Charming.
The book will chronicle the chief stew's foray into the world of mega yachts nearly 10 years ago, after she found herself "at a crossroads" following her college graduation, its synopsis describes. Even Kate had some trouble getting into the swing of things as a stewardess. But we all know that Kate worked her way up to serving as chief stew of the Below Deck yacht for three seasons so far, so it's safe to say that she finally got the hang of it.
Though we've seen a lot of crazy things on Below Deck over the years, Kate isn't holding anything back as she gives even more behind-the-scenes scoop on what really goes down on yachts. "I had written a book about my yachting travels just because I had a lot of time in the ocean, and I think it's a really interesting glimpse into a world that not a lot of people get to experience," she told The Daily Dish in September. "There's travel, there's celebrities, there's just the story of a girl who gets into adventure."
Kate also revealed on Twitter that she had been working on this book on-and-off for nearly eight years. You may have also read her musings on her blog, Lucky Charming.
The ebook version of Kate's book was released Tuesday and is available for purchase through iTunes and Amazon, while the paperback edition will be available next week, Kate announced on Twitter. She also said that she's looking into recording an audio version of the book. "Nobody reads anymore, let's be honest," Kate joked during her interview with The Daily Dish. "But I would listen to an audiobook while I clean, so I think I'll also do that."
We have a feeling that Kate's personality will still jump off the page, but there's nothing quite like hearing her sardonic wit for yourself, as she delivered all season long on Below Deck.
