Kate Chastain Can't "Count How Many Times" She's Done What Is "Off Limits" for Crew Members
The Below Deck alum got real about breaking this rule.
It’s tricky to sneak around on a yacht, as Elizabeth Frankini and James Hough discovered when their fellow crew members found out they has slept in the guest cabin together without permission. As Ashling Lorger put it during the Below Deck After Show when it comes to these kinds of things, “The truth comes out sooner or later,” and for Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, the truth is coming out much later.
Following the February 8 episode of Below Deck, the former chief stew took to Twitter to reveal that Elizabeth and James are not the only ones who have ditched their bunks for the night. “I seriously can’t even count how many times I’ve slept in a guest cabin,” Kate wrote.
Kate continued to weigh in on the situation following Elizabeth’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. In response to a Twitter user who asked if she would have “wanted Elizabeth as one of your stews?” Kate explained, “Mistakes happen. But I appreciate how Elizabeth was always apologetic and respectful and kept working after making mistakes.”
On the January 25 episode of WWHL, Captain Lee Rosbach shared his opinion on the topic of sleeping in the guest cabins: "The guests’ rooms are off limits unless you have permission,” he said. “That has been granted on occasions but they’re usually special occasions, not just because you have carnal needs you want to satisfy.”
In the After Show, which you can check out in the video above, Elizabeth reflected on her decision.
“I’ve seen past seasons of the show, so I know that’s happened. I’ve worked on boats where that’s happened, and we were off charter,” she said. “Looking back, knowing Francesca [Rubi], yeah, I should have asked permission just because I know the way she is. I think at the time, I had lost all respect for her because of the way I was being treated.”
