Danni Baird Teases Her Southern Charm Drama with Kathryn Dennis: "She Was out of Line and She Knows That"

Out of all of the jaw-dropping moments in the Southern Charm Season 6 trailer, which you can check out above, one that stands out as truly shocking is the drama that's teased between close friends Kathryn Dennis and Danni Baird. In the preview, Kathryn tells Danni, "I've been a great f--king friend to you, so f--k off. I'm not even talking to you," which seems to inspire Danni to call Kathryn "a f--king joke" right back.

Danni teased what that moment was all about during a recent interview with Decider. “I meant it," Danni said. “She was out of line and she knows that, we’ve discussed it. I know how her mind works and I know when she gets stressed out and I know how she reacts, but in that circumstance, it falling on me was completely unnecessary and I wasn’t gonna stand for it. If I can’t tell her that and be her true good friend then who is? It will be hard to watch I guess a little bit, but I don’t regret anything that I said.”

This isn't the first time we've seen the usually-genial Danni get fired up on Southern Charm. She memorably and passionately came to Kathryn's defense amid her drama with Ashley Jacobs during the group's trip to Hilton Head Island last season. “I try to filter myself but if I truly feel like something is not right, I’ll be damned, I’m gonna go up and tell you," Danni reflected on the moment to Decider. "And at that moment, I just could not handle it. It needed to stop. I mean, it didn’t help.”

There was a strong sense of girl power last season of Southern Charm, but Danni admitted that "there are some fractures" ahead for the ladies in Season 6. “Ebbs and flows in every relationship, but there is also some friction with some new people that you assume it was going to be girl power and it’s not, and you’re like, oh god, I can’t deal with this," she elaborated. "There was definitely a strong unit at some point but there’s friction all the time.”

Still, Danni has long been one of Kathryn's biggest champions, and she was especially proud of how she handled all of the drama last season of Southern Charm. "Over the last two years I’ve witnessed you show restraint and poise in the unlikeliest of circumstances. More-so than I could even comprehend," Danni said of Kathryn on Twitter following the Southern Charm Season 5 finale. "I just hope I can inspire someone else in the same capacity that you have me. Proud of you, boo."
