Kathy Griffin Lands Grammy Nomination
My Life on the D-List star taking on Margaret Cho, Flight of the Conchords.
Kathy Griffin, you are now officially one step closer to Justin Bieber.
The My Life on the D-List star can boast a spot alongside Bieber, Eminem, Katy Perry, and the rest of this year's Grammy Award nominees. On Wednesday, Kathy was nominated for Best Comedy Album at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. "Kathy Griffin Does the Bible Belt" will square off against Margaret Cho's "Cho Dependent," Flight of the Conchords' "I Told You I Was Freaky," Lewis Black's "Stark Raving Black," and Robin Williams' "Weapons of Self Destruction." The Flight of the Conchords, Lewis Black, and Robin Williams have all picked up Grammy hardware before, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for our girl (sorry, Margaret).
Last year, Kathy lost out to Stephen Colbert's " A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!," and George Carlin's "It's Bad For Ya" the year before that. Will the third time be the charm for Kathy? And if so, would they dare to let her take the mic on live television? And how close will she get to fellow nominee Justin Bieber? We'll find out when the Grammys are handed out February 13 on CBS, but in the meantime, tell us what you think: is this finally Kathy's year?
