Katie Maloney-Schwartz Defends Making Slut-Shaming Comments Toward Lala Kent
The #PumpRules newlywed reveals why "the gloves came off" with the SUR hostess this season.
You know that old saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? Well, Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Lala Kent haven't really subscribed to that credo in their interactions with one another this season of Vanderpump Rules.
For instance, Lala called out the Vanderpump Rules crew for not "working on their summer bodies" at the OK! Magazine party earlier this season, and Katie retaliated by calling her a "whore" when the SUR hostess tried to apologize for her behavior. However, some fans are wondering why Katie didn't think she was in the wrong for making comments that seemed to slut shame Lala after accusing her of body shaming. Or, as Katie put it during that episode of Vanderpump Rules, "call it as I see it."
Katie addressed the controversy on Watch What Happens Live Monday night. "Truthfully, I've never denied Lala her truth, so don't deny mine," Katie explained to Andy Cohen. "She said so many horrific, nasty things for no reason, completely unprovoked. Her coming up and body shaming me was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back, and the gloves came off then."
Lala similarly defended her words toward Katie earlier this month on Twitter. "I dont 'fat shame.' I shamed Katie4evrythg she is," she tweeted. "I'll shame her face her mind her body and her soul bc she's mean. Its called 'Katie shaming.'"
Alas, will these two SURvers ever get along? Watch the Vanderpump Rules squad weigh in on their beef, below.
