Katy Perry Isn't Quite Over the Taylor Swift Feud but Doesn't Rule Out a Collaboration
The singers could team up under one big condition.
Remember when Calvin Harris blew up everyone's spot and revealed that there might actually be a long-simmering feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift? Well, those rumors may have just got even more credence from Katy herself. When asked if she'd ever collaborate with Taylor, she noted she would, with one caveat. "If she says sorry, sure!" Katy replied to a fan.
It doesn't appear that Taylor has weighed in or issued an apology since Katy's revelation over the weekend. (But Katy is in the studio, so let's hope it happens and spawns some epic duet that settles all the beef.)
For those in need of a little history lesson, their reported feud allegedly goes all the way back to 2014 when Taylor insinuated in an interview with Rolling Stone that a fellow superstar's actions inspired her track "Bad Blood." "She did something so horrible," Taylor said at the time. "I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
Many folks decided Taylor was referencing Katy (who may or may not have hired some dancers intended for Taylor's tour, and who definitely dated Taylor's one-time beau, John Mayer), who later subtweeted this:
Oh, the shade.
