Kelly Preston Remembered by Randall Emmett: "Heaven Has Another Angel"
The film and TV producer worked with her on Gotti, which co-starred her husband, John Travolta.
Following the news that Kelly Preston passed away at the age of 57 after a battle with breast cancer, Randall Emmett is remembering the actress, mom, and wife of John Travolta. Emmett worked with Preston on the 2018 film, Gotti, which also starred her husband.
"Kelly, thank you for shining your light on me, talking to my dad for hours anytime he would visit the set. Anyone who got to meet you felt special and lucky. I’m so blessed to have gotten to know you and work with you. John you have been a friend for over a decade I cannot imagine the pain you and your children are going through. As I sit in sadness right now I am praying for your family. Thank you for sharing Kelly with me and the world. I’m heartbroken... no words. Rest In Peace, heaven has another angel," he said of working with Preston on the film, on which he served as a producer.
Emmett posted the tribute to Instagram, along with a couple of photos in her memory.
Gotti served as Preston's final film. Her other roles include SpaceCamp, Twins, Jerry Maguire, and For Love of the Game, among others.
Her passing was confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE earlier this week.
"On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer," a family representative told PEOPLE. "Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends. She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
Preston is survived by Travolta, as well as daughter Ella, 20, and son Benjamin, 9 (Preston and Travolta lost son, Jett, in 2009).
Travolta and daughter Ella each paid tribute to Preston on Instagram following her passing.
