Could Fred Savage Be Kelly Ripa's Next LIVE Co-Host?
The talk show host seems to have dropped a hint about her new partner on Wednesday's episode.
Wonder (years) no longer as there's some speculation that Fred Savage may have risen to the top of the list of potential LIVE hosts following Michael Strahan's highly-publicized exit back in May. The actor guest co-hosted alongside Kelly Ripa on Wednesday, and the duo's banter fueled rumors he may be the frontrunner for the highly-coveted gig. According to Entertainment Tonight, Kelly told Fred "welcome home" during the show. He added, "I feel very comfortable now."
He then recalled a tale about how his daughter went shopping for his birthday present and told the salesman the following quote when asked what he might like for his big day: "Well, he really likes co-hosting with Kelly." He's set to co-host LIVE for the rest of the week. Previously, a source told ET that the former Wonder Years star would be interested in the job but had reservations about moving his family to NYC. It should be noted that Fred also stopped by the show back in May.
Michael's replacement will be announced before the new season of the talk show kicks off in September. Earlier this spring, during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Anderson Cooper danced around a question about whether he would ever consider joining his BFF on the show. Check out what he had to say, below.
