Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Didn't Invite Her Surrogate to Her Baby Shower
The reality star admitted that it was a complex decision.
Kim Kardashian's lavish baby shower for her third child — who is expected to arrive soon, via surrogate — had everything. There were Kardashians and Jenners galore, cherry-blossom trees, and KKW Beauty samples. There was, it seemed to some, just one thing missing: Kardashian's surrogate. On November 16, the reality star chatted with Loni Love, host of The Real, and explained her decision to exclude the pregnant woman from her invite list.
"I introduced her to my family earlier that day, and I just thought … I don’t know, it was a weird decision to have to make,” Kardashian admitted. “Of course I would have wanted her to be there, and be a part of it, but I hadn’t really gone that far in explaining [the surrogacy] to my kids yet. So I have to figure that out first before they really see, and then if we’re celebrating, you know, her … I just wanted to celebrate the baby,” she continued. “I think I have to explain it to my kids first, and figure out how I’m going to explain it to them.” So, that's that: it's all about the kids.
But, lest you go thinking there's any tension between the Selfish author and her surrogate, Kardashian was quick to quell suspicion. "I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate," she said. "She’s so nice. She’s the perfect person to do this for my family.”
Kardashian wasn't the only one to struggle with a decision surrounding the soon-to-arrive little one. On November 16, rapper T-Pain stopped by Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and explained why he's having a hard time picking out a baby shower gift for Kardashian and Kanye West's baby.
