Kim Kardashian Won't Back Down from Those GQ Comments About Taylor Swift
The reality mama defends her husband Kanye West after his public disagreement with the singer.
Another day, another person taking aim at Taylor Swift. In a preview for Sunday's Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian defends her decision to discuss the controversy surrounding husband Kanye West's public feud with Taylor over his lyric about her in his track, "Famous." To recap: there's a lot he said/she said about whether or not Taylor gave him permission to reference her in the song. In her GQ interview, Kim said that Taylor definitely OK'd it and there is footage to prove it. And she Kim isn't backing down.
"I never talk s*** about anyone publicly, especially in interviews. But I was just like I had so had it," Kim tells sister Kourtney Kardashian, in a clip. "I just felt like I wanted to defend him in it because it's like, she legitimately quote says, ‘As soon as I get on that Grammy red carpet I'm gonna tell all the press. Like I was in on it.'"
Yes, Kim does acknowledge the fact that Kanye's 2009 VMA rant probably affected Taylor, but doesn't think it was meant to be personal. "And you know just another way to play the victim. It definitely got her a lot of attention the first time... Kanye, you know, definitely hurt her years ago when he did that, but like it wasn't meant to be personal," she said. "It could have been anyone. We all know ‘Single Ladies' was the biggest song of the year. So when she didn't win he just wanted to stand up for it."
In the same clip, Kim further defends her rapper hubby during her confessional interview. "I feel like I've had it with people blatantly treating my husband a certain way, making him look a certain way," she said. "Kanye is always so honest and speaks his mind. And you know, when we were first dating, people would always talk s*** and he always had my back. At this point, I really don't give a f*** so I'll do whatever to protect my husband."
Hey, Taylor, just go on and shake those haters off.
