Kim Richards Reveals Her Final Words to Monty Brinson Before He Died
The #RHOBH alum opens up about her ex-husband's last days.
Last month, Kim Richards said goodbye to her ex-husband and lifelong friend, Monty Brinson, after he lost his battle with cancer. Now, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is discussing that loss, and how she spent her final hours with him, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "He was glad that he was going first because he didn't think he could bare it if it was me and he had to be left here," Kim said, before recalling the final words to her ex. "I said, 'I love you,' and then I felt him just kind of leave, and it was shocking. I just didn't expect it."
While Kim is no longer a full-time 'Wife on RHOBH, she did appear on the show this week (clip above) to sit down with sister Kyle Richards and confront their issues. She will also appear on Lifetime's The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, which premiered Tuesday, with daughter Kimberly Jackson. The series features mothers and daughters trying to mend their relationships. And with Kim currently in recovery, she admits that watching the other women drink during filming didn't make her want to relapse. "It wasn't tempting for me in any way, if anything when you see something like that you almost go, like, 'Phew, thank God it's not me.'" And Kim says despite the toll Monty's death has taken on her, she remains strong in her mission to stay sober. "I'll just say my recovery is going amazing," she said. "It really is."
