Kim Zolciak-Biermann Explains How Her Stroke Still Affects Her Today

It's been nearly two years since Kim Zolciak-Biermann had a stroke, and the Don't Be Tardy mom admits that to this day she's still feeling the effects of that health scare -- especially when it comes to her ability to communicate.

"As you know I had a stroke in Sept 2015 and when Brielle called Kroy to tell him something wasn't 'right' with me I remember him yelling, 'Brielle get her in the car NOW and take her to the hospital fast every minute count!' It's TRUE! And I'm so thankful for everyone's quick thinking. I've never seen doctors/nurses move as fast as they did the second I was wheeled in. I'm so thankful for my medical team. I have almost fully recovered (sometimes my tongue slips when I speak, and sometimes I have the word on the tip of my tongue but it just doesn't come out) but I feel great!!" she revealed on Instagram. "I had my stroke at 37!! It can happen to anyone at any age!! When in doubt please always check it out!!"

When The Daily Dish spoke to Kim last September about suffering a mini-stroke, which later resulted in her undergoing heart surgery, she shared what has changed most about her life.

"I don't even know if I would know what to do without chaos," she said at the time. "There's always something going on. My health definitely has changed my perspective. I don't know if I would look at [Kroy Biermann's] free agency the way that I do today a year ago. There's parts of me that are very thankful for my stroke and how I've evolved. I'm just not as attached to [questions like,] 'Where are we going to live? What are we going to do?' It doesn't matter. We'll work it out and we'll figure it out, which is actually a really awesome feeling."
