Kim Zolciak Celebrates Her Birthday with One Noticeable Absence: "I Cried Many Times"
The celebration took place after the RHOA alum received criticism over a misleading post about her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann.
Kim Zolciak admits her birthday week was full of tears… of the happy variety.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum reflected on the celebration in a May 21 Instagram post, where she shared an inside look at her intimate birthday dinner. Attendees included Kim’s oldest daughter, Brielle Biermann; her longtime fitness trainer, EJ Adams; as well as a handful of friends.
“I feel so incredibly blessed and overwhelmed,” Kim captioned the post. “These last few days have been surreal celebrating ‘46’. I cried many times just full of complete gratitude with all your text messages, all the DM’s and phone calls and flowers. I felt and feel so loved. I am so grateful for everyone that rallied and showed up for me… I am forever grateful for everyone that has made me feel so supported… It’s only onwards and upwards from here.”

The carousel showed Kim blowing out her birthday candles, taking a mirror selfie, and laughing with her loved ones. However, it was hard not to notice that someone was missing: Kim’s second-oldest daughter, Ariana Biermann. The ATL mom addressed the absence in the Instagram caption, explaining why Ariana and her boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, could not attend.
“P.S my angel [Ariana] and [Hudson] were out of town longer than anticipated,” she continued, “so they were unable to make it so they sent me my favorite bottle of wine to the table as a surprise.”

Ariana Biermann criticizes Kim Zolciak's "RIP" post for Kroy Biermann
The explanation may have preemptively shut down rumors about Kim and Ariana’s relationship. The two made headlines back in April after Ariana criticized her mom over a misleading Instagram about Kroy Biermann — Kim’s estranged husband who adopted Ariana and Brielle in 2013. The post showed the former couple posing next to each other and included the caption, “RIP.” Of course, many people assumed Kim was announcing Kroy’s death; however, it was quickly confirmed that the retired NFL player was still very much alive.
“You guys, I had about a damn heart attack when I went on my Instagram,” Ariana said in an April 23 TikTok video. “I physically don’t have any f-cking words. The DMs that I’m getting as well, before I even saw the story… What would you do in this situation? Secondhand embarrassment stays through the roof. Let’s see what’s coming next week. I love you, but I just — my heart, like, tugging. Like, no. The f-ck?”

Although Ariana was clearly unhappy with the so-called “clickbait” post, Kim insisted there was no bad blood between her and her daughter.
“Everyone is asking me about the truth about Ariana and I, like, is our relationship fractured because she discussed a post that I made on Instagram?” Kim told CelebBuzz. “Some people claimed I was implying Kroy died (which I already addressed was the FARTHEST thing from the truth last week)… Ariana and I are great. We have always had an extremely close mother/daughter relationship. And always will.”
