Kris Jenner Shuts Down Caitlyn Jenner's Claims That She Invented Keeping Up With The Kardashians
The series has been on the air for a decade, but there's still an argument over who was responsible for the initial concept.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians is marking a decade on reality television and there's still some disagreement as to whose idea it was originally.
Caitlyn Jenner's contentious memoir The Secrets of My Life says a lot of unkind things about her former wife Kris Jenner. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is also an implication that she came up with the KUTWK concept and the article quotes a passage from the memoir that reads, "The house is awash in puberty and adolescence and young adulthood and two parents with very different styles. It seems to me something is there for television. … Kris says she is the one who came up with the idea …"
Caitlyn wouldn't participate in The Hollywood Reporter's 10-year anniversary group interview on the show, but Kris wasn't too shy to clap back at that claim.
"It's so absurd," she told the publication. "I'm not sure what the motivation was for her to say something like that. Maybe somebody should remind her that it's called Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
Kim Kardashian addressed Caitlyn's memoir claims on a series episode that aired in May, saying Caitlyn went out of her way to discredit Kris.
""[Caitlyn's] so angry at Mom, like for no reason," she said. "It was like, 'I didn't speak to my sister because of Kris. I didn't see my kids because of Kris.' Like, grow up and say, 'I didn't call my kids!'"
Caitlyn can be seen on the current spinoff series Life of Kylie.
