Does Kristen Doute Regret Bringing Up the Tom Schwartz Vegas Girl Rumors?
"My execution and my tact maybe weren't on point, but the intention was there," the #PumpRules pal explains.
Tensions were certainly running high during the Vanderpump Rules group trip to New Orleans. And those issues reached an all-time high when Tom Schwartz was confronted with rumors that he cheated on Katie Maloney-Schwartz several years ago during a trip to Las Vegas. The rumors bubbled back up to the surface when it was brought up by Kristen Doute and her boyfriend, Brian Carter. So, does Kristen now regret addressing them during the couple's joint bachelor and bachelorette party?
"I think New Orleans was so much crazier than we thought it was going to be," she shared with The Daily Dish recently. "Somehow we thought we would go and have the best time and no one would fight. Yeah, that never happens. So I don't know what we were thinking. I think Katie worded it best that my execution and my tact maybe weren't on point, but the intention was there. And I think the intention should matter. I really thought that if I caught Schwartz at his most vulnerable state that it would be like truth serum — and it was the absolute worst idea ever because I basically ruined a really fun night."
However, in light of the fact that the couple was able to put the rumors behind them and eventually walked down the aisle, Kristen is taking some credit for helping to facilitate them to get past their drama. "At the end of the day, as people will see the rest of this season play out, had Carter and I really not drilled this down Schwartz's throat, I don't know if they ever would have come to grips with what the problem was," she said. "So maybe it wasn't the best timing, but you're welcome Tom and Katie."
In fact, another positive came out of the dramatic turn of events. Kristen got to see that her boyfriend has her back as he defended her to the guys during the drama. "I was a little surprised to see Carter speaking up because obviously I wasn't in the elevator and I wasn't in the hallway in that moment, and I also wasn't at the gator lunch — but it was nice cause I've never had a boyfriend who's ever defended me," she said. "I feel like I can just re-watch that clip on replay when they're in the elevator and Schwartz calls me like a B word and Carter's like, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa.' I'm like, 'Yes!' That's whats up Schwartz, take a page out of Carter's book. Defend your lady."
