Here's How Mauricio Umansky Learned How to Woo Kyle Richards on Valentine's Day
The #RHOBH husband has upped his romantic gestures since his newlywed days.
We should all be so lucky to find a love like the kind Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky have. Whether we see them together on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or in some throwback photos from their wedding, Kyle and Mauricio will never stop being #RelationshipGoals.
However, Kyle admitted that after 21 years of marriage, the couple's idea of romance has changed. "What I used to think is romantic, like surprising you and bringing you flowers now I'm like, 'I don't want you to waste money on flowers. They're gonna die in a few days.' It's like all of a sudden, you're way less romantic," Kyle told The Daily Dish while discussing her most romantic memories. "I know this sounds stupid, but just thoughtful things like bringing me breakfast or coffee in the morning, just showing that I'm thinking about you, littler things matter now."
Kyle said that just spending one-on-one time together means so much now, too. "We're here in New York for 48 hours together, and he said, 'I don't want to meet up with people. I just want it to be the two of us.' Just him saying that after being married 21 years, I love that he thinks like that," Kyle gushed. "So that's sweet to me."
But Mauricio hasn't always hit it out of the park when it comes to wooing Kyle, especially on special occasions like Valentine's Day. "The least romantic gift my husband gave me, I will never forget. It was Valentine's Day. We were at dinner. We had been married maybe a year, and I was waiting for him to hand me my Valentine's gift," Kyle recalled. "And then he didn't. And I was getting like, 'What is going on?' So I was like, 'Did you get me anything for Valentine's Day?' because I got him something. And he said, 'No, remember I brought you that sweater home from Vail?' It was like two weeks before. So he was young, not that sharp yet. So now he knows, do not do that."
Just as Mauricio has upped his gift-giving game over the years, Kyle said that she has also learned what really matters in a relationship. "If it's our anniversary or Mother's Day, that to me is something more important," Kyle said. "But Valentine's Day, just to go have dinner out, I'm fine with. I'm letting him off the hook now."
If Mauricio really wants to impress Kyle this Valentine's Day, perhaps he should pick up one of these sure-to-please presents.
