On the November 9 episode of her podcast, Give Them Lalathe Vanderpump Rules cast member detailed why she had to bring the 20-month-old to the hospital a week earlier.

Shortly after Lala put her daughter down for bed at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, she said Ocean began to scream. When Lala went into Ocean’s room, she said she could tell that her baby girl was struggling to breathe.

“This cry on Wednesday night was like, ‘Something is wrong,’” Lala recounted.

After a few minutes of Ocean “gasping for air,” the mom of one made a command decision.

“I was keeping an eye on her [for] what seemed like an hour, which was really maybe five minutes before I decided, ‘We’re going to the emergency room. Something’s off,’” she explained. Lala took Ocean to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The former SUR hostess and her baby were rushed to a room “immediately,” even though the emergency room was full of people.

Lala said she was “freaking out” and “in hysterics,” but her mom had been around to help her. Ocean was diagnosed with croup, which is an infection that can obstruct breathing.

Lala’s daughter took a steroid to help with the “very scary” infection, giving her near-instant relief. Once Lala, Ocean, and Lala’s mother returned home from the hospital, Lala stayed up all night to watch her daughter sleep.

“I was horrified,” she said of the harrowing situation.

Lala revealed that everyone in her household was under the weather and “down for the count” after the scary hospital trip.

When Ocean started feeling better, Lala posted a video of the tot practicing her animal sounds on Instagram.

“We were sick all weekend, but got this content… [and] I can’t even,” Lala wrote in the caption of her post.

On her podcast, Lala concluded the story by sharing that the “biggest bummer” was that she missed out on Lisa Vanderpump’s grandson’s birthday celebration
