“For my 30th birthday, I had the best gift given to me, my body also helped out, too. I am pregnant!” she said. “I am so excited. I feel very maternal and motherly.”

The couple also told the story of how Lala shared the news with Randall during a trip to his favorite place in the world, Camp Highlander in North Carolina. Randall had gone to the archery range with Lala’s mom and his daughter, London, while his other daughter, Rylee, decided to stay back at the cabin with Lala. Randall was gone for four hours with no cell reception when Lala took the test, which he added was something they had agreed not to do while at camp.

“The night before, she said, ‘Should I take the test?’ and I said, ‘Absolutely not. We are having the greatest trip with the girls, with your mom, with me, we are going to wait until we get home. Because if you’re not pregnant, it’s going to be a spiral depression,’ and she looked at me and said, ‘Baby, you’re right.’ And I was like, ‘Great.’”

Lala explained that Rylee ended up convincing her to take the test.

“It pops up pregnant, and I look up at Rylee, and I’m like, ‘Do you know what this means?’ and she’s like, ‘What? What does it say?’ I was like, ‘This mean’s Lala’s going to have a baby!’ She stands up, screams, ‘You’re gonna have a baby! We gotta tell my dad! We gotta tell my dad right now!’”

When Randall returned to the cabin four hours later, Rylee and Lala were waiting for him. They handed him a popcorn box, which he assumed was some kind of a prank as “they play these games and tricks on” him pretty frequently.

“I open the popcorn box, I think a snake’s gonna jump out, and it’s the pregnancy test,” he said. “And I was like, yo, that’s cool.”

“No he was not. He sobbed his eyes out,” Lala said. “Bawling.”

“That is not true. I was emotional, I did not sob my eyes out,” he added.

“Alright, I’ll post the video of you crying later,” said Lala.

“If you post that f--king video…” said Randall.

Lala went on to describe Randall’s emotional reaction, explaining that she initially wasn’t able to tell exactly how he was feeling.

“He was beside himself, hugging me, like, ‘Is this really happening?’ For a second I was like, ‘Are you upset about it, or are these happy tears?’” she said.

“I don’t even remember, it was so shocking. It’s not even like we took it together and I was ready for it,” he said. “I was so happy, you know I was so happy.”

Randall also explained that the occasion was even more special, given the fact they were at Camp Highlander.

“I’ll tell you why it was even more special,” he said. “I wanted to take the test there originally because I wanted it to be positive, at camp, because I thought, how magical. This mountain gave me so much love. But if it’s negative, I will always remember it being negative. So I was like, f—k that, we’re not ruining the spot! And I come back and it was positive, and now that camp is even better. Our baby will go to that camp when it’s 6 years old.”

“Can’t wait,” said Lala. “The child’s not even born, and you’re talking to me about sending it away for two weeks? Like, not happening.”
