With only five months to go before the big day, wedding planning is in full swing for LeeAnne and Rich. LeeAnne recently teased to ET that the couple's Christmas ornament Save The Date will be sent out at the beginning of December. She also has the venue, Dallas' Cathedral of Hope, and the designer who will be making her custom wedding gown set.

As for the status of that 500-to-1,000-guest wedding LeeAnne estimated this season of RHOD, she recently told PEOPLE that she will be keeping it "simple" during the ceremony but will go all-out with "a big celebration." “I want to do flower walls with neon signs in them for social media pictures," she shared. "We’ve started going through a bunch of stuff. Napkins, silverware, personalized wine bottles — just different stuff. I want it to be such a fabulously fun party.”

There is one huge decision for her wedding that LeeAnne hasn't made yet: who will walk her down the aisle. LeeAnne told PEOPLE that she had hoped her grandfather would be the one to fill that role since he raised her, along with her grandmother. Unfortunately, LeeAnne's grandfather and grandmother recently passed away at the age of 93 and 92, respectively.

LeeAnne got emotional while opening up about her grandparents' absence at her wedding to PEOPLE. “Part of the day that’s going to be the hardest is not having my grandparents there,” she shared. “I always dreamed of it being my grandfather. I always thought that that would be my way of saying thank you to him for taking me in and loving me and giving me a home... I haven’t talked about them not being there yet, but I always thought it would be him and now that he’s not there, I don’t know what to do.”

Now LeeAnne and Rich are discussing who will be that special someone to walk her down the aisle. “I’ve thought about walking myself down the aisle because I’ve been my own defender for so long," she said. "But I have some people in my life who are super special. So Rich and I are talking about that. We haven’t made up our mind about that yet.”

LeeAnne previously explained to The Daily Dish podcast in November 2017 why she and Rich weren't planning on having anyone in their wedding party. “There probably won't be any bridesmaids or groomsmen because Chris Kyle was murdered and that was Rich's best friend. And so I wouldn't want it to be unbalanced,” she said. “Rich and I are each other's family. We're all each other has had for so long, for eight years, almost nine years. We really don't need anyone else."
