Lisa Barlow Pens Heartfelt Message for Son Jack's High School Graduation
The RHOSLC mom congratulated her oldest child on reaching the milestone: "You are everything beautiful in this world."
Lisa Barlow is now the mother of a high school graduate.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City mom celebrated the bittersweet moment on Instagram this week, when she posted photos of her son Jack Barlow’s graduation ceremony. The carousel included a handful of family pictures as well as candid shots of her oldest child receiving his diploma.
“This major milestone is done,” Lisa captioned the Instagram. “I’m so glad I was blessed to be your mom. You are everything beautiful in this world. You are the absolute best older brother. Most thoughtful son and my whole sunshine. I’ve been in awe of you since the day you were mine. You are so confident in being you and this journey you are going on will for sure impact the lives of others. I love you beyond. You will always have my complete heart.”
Lisa Was Anticipating a Wave of Emotions
The post came nearly a month after Lisa shared pictures of Jack’s senior prom night. The RHOSLC cast member admitted she felt a mix of emotions leading up to the dance, as it marked her son's last big event before graduation.
“I love/hate this!!!!! I laughed and cried yesterday…. all at the same time,” she wrote. “I’m soooo glad I get to be your mom. So glad you make great choices. So glad you have great style and so happy we get to experience this with you. I could not love you more [Jack]. Your next steps are huge. Graduation is going to take me out.”
What's Next for Jack?
Though Lisa didn't elaborate on her son’s next chapter, she indicated he was headed to New York City. The entrepreneur suggested the move in the comments section of the prom post, where she told a friend they needed to “catch up before he leaves for Columbia!”
Lisa and her husband, John Barlow, previously expressed concern over Jack’s post-high school plans and his hesitation to attend college. The issue was addressed during RHOSLC Season 3, when the teen told his parents he wasn't sold on pursuing a degree.
“Fudge college, honestly,” he told his mom, before referencing his Fresh Wolf grooming brand. “I already own a company.”
Lisa went on to tell her son that college offered invaluable education that expanded outside of the classroom.
“I think for me too, Jack, college wasn’t just about what I learned in physical science or math,” Lisa said. “It was about figuring out how to live on my own. I didn’t grow up with a mom who cooked, I didn’t ever learn how to cook.”
Judging by Lisa’s social media activity, it’s safe to say Jack has changed his position on higher education. And we can’t wait to see where life takes him.
