As soon as Lisa Edelstein hangs up her Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce hat, she'll put on a stethoscope. Big news: The actress has just been tapped to head to the set of The Good Doctor

The project will reunite Lisa with David Shore, with whom she worked for seven years on House. Shore is the creator and executive producer of The Good Doctor. (And it's a small world, because Edelstein's GG2D co-star Beau Garrett is also on The Good Doctor, where she plays Jessica Preston, St. Bonaventure Hospital's in-house attorney and Vice President of Risk Management.) In the second season of The Good Doctor, Edelstein will play the recurring role of Dr. Blaize. And the top oncologist sounds like quite the character ... we're guessing she'll be super smart and a little bit scandalous.

Edelstein's character, Dr. Blaize, is returning to the hospital after a short suspension  — intrigue! — to treat another character, Dr. Aaron Glassman. We can't wait to see how this medical drama pans out.

And in the meantime, we'll be waiting to catch Lisa in The Kominsky Method and soaking up every last episode of GG2D, airing Thursdays at 10/9c. Watch a preview of the next episode, below.
