Dorit Kemsley Sets the Record Straight on That Dog Drama with Lisa Vanderpump
Dorit Kemsley explains what happened with the dog she adopted from the Vanderpump Dog Center.
Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills kicked off with some major drama for the 90210 squad. The group was abuzz in the Season 9 premiere with rumors concerning Dorit Kemsley and a pup her family adopted from the Vanderpump Dog Center.
Dorit set the record straight on what actually happened with the dog her family had named Lucy Lucy Apple Juice during an appearance on Access Live on February 15. "We rescued a dog at Vanderpump Dog Center. She wasn't the right fit for the family, and after some time and a lot of consideration, we found a beautiful home for her," Dorit explained. "So she went to this home and then ultimately ended up in a shelter, and that is where kind of the whole conversation starts."
Dorit added that the dog is doing well today. "But Lucy was always fine. Nothing ever happened to her," she said. "She still is fine. She's with a new home."
The RHOBH swimwear designer elaborated on why she and her husband, Paul "PK" Kemsley, felt it was best for them to find Lucy another home. "She was a hyper, a very nervous dog, and she was biting the kids, biting the kids a lot. And my husband. She had bitten my husband's face. My little ones, they're very little, and they're great. They're the ones that were begging me to get a dog. I grew up with animals, so it's the best thing for children," Dorit shared. "But she just wasn't the right fit, and I have to consider my children's safety, always. At the point that the dogs are biting the kids' [faces], it's just something that I had to make the right decision for the family."
Lisa Vanderpump cleared the air about this situation with Dorit in the Season 9 premiere (clip above), telling her that she knew she had no "bad intention." The two then vowed to put all this behind them.
