Lisa Vanderpump loves a parade — and she 's set to be the Celebrity Grand Marshal at the upcoming Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride parade on May 21 taking place during Long Beach Pride weekend, according to Wehoville.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills restaurateur is among other notable Angelinos and celebrities who are scheduled to appear during the weekend— including music icon Chaka Khan, who is slated to perform on May 20, according to the event's official website. Other performers will include Jody Watley and SRL, as well as country singer Ty Herndon.
Lisa is no stranger to using her voice and activism to support the LGBTQ community. Fans saw that first-hand this season on Vanderpump Rules when she appeared in the Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood last June in the wake of the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando just hours before. She shared with Variety back in December why it was so important for her to appear in that parade following the tragedy: “I knew if I left, the cameras would follow me. It wasn’t about the show at this point, it was about the incredible force of support — people saying, ‘We’re not going away.’ I think it was a busier Gay Pride than it ever had been because I think people came out saying, ‘This will not beat us.'”
