Here's Why Sonja Morgan May Have Mistakenly Thought She Was Invited to Luann D'Agostino's Wedding

Luann D'Agostino Gushes About Married Life

It's not uncommon for The Real Housewives of New York City to disagree, but you would think that something as seemingly black or white as whether or not Sonja Morgan received an invitation to Luann D'Agostino's wedding on New Year's Eve 2016 would be easy to figure out. Luann said at the beginning of the season that Dorinda Medley was the only one of the current RHONY ladies she had invited to her wedding. Still, Sonja maintained that she did score an invite but was not attending because she would be vacationing in Phuket, Thailand at that time. The two bickered a little bit about this at Ramona Singer's disastrous dinner party in last week's episode.

So what caused this mix-up in the first place? "I had thought about inviting Sonja, and for a moment it was something on my mind, but eventually we didn't send her a physical invite. But she did come to the shower," Luann told The Daily Dish. "And then Sonja goes and talks about Tom [D'Agostino] somewhere else. And it's like, you know what? Forget about it. I was thinking about it, and then I said, 'No way.'"

But unlike last season's weekend in the Berkshires, Sonja was not the only RHONY lady excluded from Luann's nuptials. "My wedding day was a very big, special day for me, and I didn't want to have any drama around it. So I just didn't feel like the women were supportive, and I didn't want to have my day being ruined in any way, shape, or form. So I decided to just invite Dorinda, who introduced Tom and I, and she was [one of my bridesmaids]," Luann explained. "So I was comfortable in my decision. I felt bad not inviting the women, but like I said, I wanted it to be the perfect day, and I didn't want to have any drama."

After everything that happened between Tom and the ladies last season, Luann said she fully expected there to be plenty of drama outside of her wedding anyway. "I did expect there to still be talk about Tom and I. I knew there would be," Luann said. "But it didn't ruffle my feathers. Whatever the women had to say, I was not gonna let them ruin my attitude or my strength in terms of knowing what I'm doing. I'm a grown woman, so I'm marrying Tom, and that's it."

We're off! Happy 2017! #weddingweekendfun ❤

Luckily, Luann's love for Tom helped her make it through. "My philosophy going into Season 9 was really that I felt secure in my decision to marry Tom, and that's really the most important thing. I think you have to feel confident and grounded in who you are. And for me, there was no doubt really ever that I would marry Tom and walk down the aisle because we love each other," she said. "So there's nothing stronger than that. If you have that bond and that love for each other, that really powered me through Season 9."

Now Luann couldn't be happier to be Mrs. D'Agostino. "I say in my tagline, 'The only title I feel comfortable with other than countess is wife,' and I'm very happy to be married again," Luann said. "It's wonderful. I'm the only married [RHONY] Housewife."
