Luann de Lesseps Marks a Major Milestone as She Celebrates More Than 100 Days Sober: Here's How She's Done It
In addition to opening up about her past struggles, the RHONY mom teased what her holiday plans are.
As 2018 nears its end, Luann de Lesseps is going into the holiday season with a pretty great reason to celebrate. The Daily Dish has confirmed that The Real Housewives of New York City cabaret performer is currently over 100 days sober following a second rehab stint back in July.
Next up for Lu? Well, decking the halls with her family, as well as holiday-themed #CountessandFriends shows. Those shows kick off on November 30, with dates lined up for throughout December. Luann added on Instagram that "after the holidays we will be continuing the #nationaltour across America!!!"
As for how she'll spend the next few weeks when she's not performing, she told Us Weekly, “I’m going to be in the Hamptons... Thanksgiving, I’m upstate. And I want to mention how supportive my children have been and how grateful I am for them.”
December marks the one year anniversary of Luann's arrest in Palm Beach in 2017, but it's clear she has moved on from all that as she looks to 2019 having not only launched her successful cabaret act, but also having launched a jewelry line. So, how will she say goodbye to 2018? She told Us Weekly, “I am just going to be chill for New Year’s. Be with really close friends.”
She continued, “It’s a matter of changing your learned behavior really and it’s really learned and making way for a new thought process which is, I can enjoy New Year’s without drinking. Like I figured out I can enjoy going out for dinner without drinking. Who knew?”
Luann is now taking her sobriety "day by day," she added to Us Weekly: “It’s not easy. I take it day by day and that’s all I can do. I try not to think about it in the long term and just think day by day and today, I’m not drinking. I must say I’ve gotten more done in the last six months than I did the past couple of years. I feel much more clear-headed and on my game. I just want to be present... it’s getting easier the longer I’m sober and sometimes I’m like, ‘I’m so glad I don’t drink!’ Sure it’s not easy but I don’t wake up saying, ‘Oh I wish I had a hangover!’ So that’s a positive.”
