These Leggings Are So Bright You’ll Need Sunglasses at Night

Running at night just got more stylish.

By Courtney Thompson

Lululemon Athletica’s new Lab concept store rolled out the Reflective Splatter Collection last week and the launch is making some waves thanks to its sky-high prices. Oh, and it’s super reflective, tech-y fabric.

Comprised of only four pieces—leggings, shorts, a sports bra and a racerback tank—the capsule is priced from $68 (for the bra) to $298 (for the leggings). Like the Gwyneth Paltrow of fitness gear, Lululemon is often the bearer of mean tweets, and haters were to quick to gripe about paying nearly $300 for leggings.

Backlash aside, the line is pretty rad given the fabric’s double printing technique—meaning the fabric has two layers, one of reflective thread that sits on top of the jazzy splatter-patterned layer. The result? Well, as you can see from the photos, anyone who wears the gear will be highly visible, which makes sense since Lab created the pieces with shorter days in mind, and how that affects early-morning and late-evening runners. Because of that, the rollout was timed to this weekend’s New York City Marathon. Shop the collection below, but be warned, you’re going to have trouble hitting snooze when you’ve got $300 leggings resting in your drawer.

Speed Tight, $298

Hotty Hot Short, $148

Cool Racerback II, $68

All Sports Bra, $98
