Lydia McLaughlin: I'm Having a Baby Boy!
The former OC Housewife also reveals the name—and her sons' surprising reaction.
Back in April, former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lydia McLaughlin shared the wonderful news that she's expecting another baby.
Now, she's happy to dish on the sex of the baby. "We're having another boy!" she tells OK! magazine. "He's due on Nov. 11. The whole family found out together."
This will be the third son for Lydia and her husband Doug—and the Canadian entrepreneur says her little boys, Maverick and Stirling, were hoping for a little sister. "So after hearing the doctor's news, Stirling said, 'Mommy, I guess I'm going to have to wish for a girl again on my next birthday,'" Lydia recalls. "We were like, 'No, no, no! We're done with kids!"
Lydia admits that she was hoping to have a daughter, but she is hardly disappointed. "As soon as you find out you're having a healthy baby, the gender doesn't matter and you just get excited," she says. "I wouldn't trade my boys for anything. We're going to raise three great little gentlemen, and the world needs more gentlemen."
Lydia is also happy to report that they've settled on a name. "We're going with Roman," she adds, "which represents my Italian roots. Plus, we have Stirling and Maverick, so we couldn't exactly go with a simple name like John for the third one."
Though Lydia still has a few months until she welcomes her third son, she admits that after a "tough" first trimester, she's feeling like herself again. "I've been able to start my workout routine again, and we have a few family trips lined up," she says. "I'm going to be entering my third trimester in a bikini on the Amalfi coast in Italy!"
But that doesn't mean she's avoided giving into indulgent cravings: going to the Cheesecake Factory is a favorite activity. "The restaurant here actually has a drive-thru," she says, "so I stop to get it at least once a week."
