Apparently Madonna Had No Idea Who Anyone Was on the Cast of Will & Grace
Megan Mullally recalls working with the Queen on Pop on the comedy.
Back in the day, a slew of very famous faces stopped by the set of Will & Grace. Cher, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Madonna were among the pop divas who graced the show with their presence. But according to Megan Mullally, one of those ladies couldn't quite remember the cast's real names.
"The pop stars were really interesting. Everybody was really cool though. A lot cooler than you would think. Like Madonna was very cool," she shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. "And I thought she was really nice and really present. She worked really, really hard. She wasn't a primadonna. She didn't necessarily know our real names in real life because why should she? Who cares? And so the cast, some of the cast, were like really offended like, 'She doesn't even know my name.' And I was like, 'Who cares? Madonna's doing our show. It doesn't matter.'"
Megan was quick to point out that Madonna basically referred to everyone by their character names "but in a nice way. She doesn't need to know our names for crying out loud. She's doing our show! Who cares?"
Madonna might get the chance to make up for that past on-set faux pas. This week it was announced that Will & Grace will be returning to the airwaves for the 2017-2018 TV season, making it the latest show to get the revival treatment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will return for 10 episodes with the entire original squad; Megan, Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, and Sean Hayes, all set to bring their signature small-screen personas back to life.
The news came months after the foursome revived those characters for an election-themed video last fall. Megan shared whether she's worried about having to work with her old crew again to Kimmel. "No, there was always a big love fest. It sounds fake, but it's true. I think we actually love each other more now," she said. "There's always a lot of dry humping that goes on."
