Start Spreading the News: Racquel Chevremont Joins RHONY Season 15 (DETAILS)
The Real Housewives of New York City ladies will welcome model and curator Racquel Chevremont to the group for Season 15.
Your next bite out of the Big Apple just got a little sweeter thanks to the news that Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York City will see a new face hanging with the group. The RHONY ladies will welcome Racquel Chevremont to the crew in the upcoming new season, Bravo announced on June 27.
The returning cast for Season 15 of RHONY was confirmed earlier this year and now we're learning more about Racquel's impressive career and life as she readies for her RHONY debut in the upcoming new season.
“It’s exciting,” Racquel told GLAAD. “I honestly didn’t think they would be interested in me in the end because they already had a queer woman. I wasn’t sure if they were going to want two queer women on a franchise that has historically been about married heterosexual women. I think it was a bold decision and honestly a more authentic representation of NYC.”
“My family and I really had to think about it; in the end, it made sense,” she added in a conversation with GLAAD. “My entire adult life has been about representation and using whatever platform I have to get the voices of queer folks of the diaspora out there. What better way to do so if not as a member of this iconic franchise.”
Who Is Racquel Chevremont?
According to Racquel's Instagram bio, she's an "Advisor-Curator-Collector-Model."
Racquel's official bio in Thursday's press release notes: "Born in Brooklyn and raised in The Bronx, Chevremont is an art curator with over 20 years of experience working with institutions and advising corporations, collectors and artists alike."
The bio further notes: "She has curated artists such as Dawoud Bey, Natia Lemay, Glenn Ligon, Julie Mehretu, Gordon Parks, Deborah Roberts and more into collections for award nominated films and television series, including Severance, Empire, Law and Order: Organized Crime, And Just Like That... Additionally, Chevremont was discovered by photographer and model scout Steve Landis for Elite models in 1993. She has graced ad campaigns for Benetton, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Fila, L’Oréal, Nivea as well as International Elle magazine covers. As a proud Black Queer woman, Chevremont is dedicated to representation and using whatever platform she has to get the voices of queer folks of diaspora out there. She is the co-founder of The Josie Club, a Black Queer Femme and Woman-supported and operated social impact group that organizes community around collaborative event productions."
Racquel Chevremont joins the previously announced returning The Real Housewives of New York City Housewives for Season 15 including Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield.
