Meghan King Opens Up About Feeling "Depleted, Desperate, Depressed" Over the Past Year
The RHOC alum got real about the year following her divorce from ex-husband Jim Edmonds.
It has been a year full of changes for Meghan King. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has juggled lots between handling her divorce from Jim Edmonds, parenting, starting a podcast, and beginning a new relationship. Meghan got super real about her experiences in an Instagram post revealing herself as the cover star of Pump Lifestyle’s Summer/Fall issue.
“To see my face and my name (Meghan KING) on the cover is immensely flattering and truthfully, kinda shocking,” Meghan began the caption of her post. “Only a year ago, I was desperately seeking brain injury therapies for my son, Hart, and traveling wherever I needed to help him, and I was devastated at the state of my marriage as it crumbled before my eyes: in essence I was depleted, desperate, depressed, alone and dejected.”
Meghan explained that although she was feeling very low, she began to make the changes needed to turn her life around.
“In that time I put on my big-girl panties and got to work: I became a better mother, I threw myself into counseling, prayer, and meditation, I reorganized my blog and social media, and I started a podcast,” she said.
Meghan also touched on the fact that she dropped Edmonds from her name, writing, “I dropped my married name, became a better writer, bought a car, and cried a lot. I forgave myself, forgave others, and I grew.”
“I did it for myself,” she continued. “And I learned how to love the sh-t out of myself. And to be on the cover - not as a model, not with my former name - and to have authored the cover story blows me away. I never would’ve guessed this is where I’d be if you asked me one year ago. But I f***ing did it. It was my turn to write the ending.”
