Melissa Gorga Gives an Update on Her Marriage to Joe After Season 11
The Real Housewives of New Jersey 'Wife opened up about how things are with Joe Gorga today.
The last we saw Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga, they were experiencing some growing pains in their marriage. Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey found the longtime couple trying to work on their relationship amid some changing dynamics and Melissa's successful career.
It's been a few months since we saw the couple at the Season 11 reunion, and now Melissa is sharing an update on how things are with Joe today.
“I know [we've] been married for 16 years, but we are still learning each other. There’s different turning points, I would say, in marriages,” Melissa recently told Us Weekly. “Joe is not big on change and he likes things to stay the same. He likes to know that everything’s going to be intact and probably, that’s what makes him a great husband. But for me, I’m all about change right now.”
Melissa remains focused on finding a balance in her home life and career. "I don’t want to die unhappy. I wanna feel fulfilled. Not just as a mom," she told Us Weekly, adding though that when it comes to work commitments, "I think I’m picking and choosing a little bit more now."
The couple has been keeping busy together as well as of late with cute date nights. They also recently hosted family and friends at their home on the Jersey Shore around the July 4 holiday.
And they have not missed the chance to share some love about their relationship with the world on Instagram. Melissa posted this message about Joe last month: "Been with him since I’m 24. We made a family and I think we’re doing a damn good job with all the 'extras' in our life. Couldn’t be more proud of the way my babies are! Thank you for holding this family down. Happy [Father's] Day everyone!!!"
Melissa added in a separate post: "Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy out there. You work so hard [every day] since the day I met you, you teach our kids the importance of hard work and the meaning of family! We love you!"
Joe often posts messages about his philosophy on his marriage on Instagram via quotes posted along with photos of him with his wife (some recent examples below). And around Mother's Day, he shared how much he cares about Melissa: "You are the most amazing mother, our children are so lucky to have you as their mom. Thank you for being the mother you are. I love you honey."
