Eboni K. Williams was recently confirmed as the newest cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City. Although we have yet to see the lawyer and TV host on our screens as a RHONY cast member, she’s friends with one Bravoleb that’s already certain she’s going to do a fantastic job: Cynthia Bailey’s husband, Mike Hill

How to Watch

“Eboni’s a friend of mine,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta husband revealed in an interview with PEOPLE. “She’s smart, she’s articulate. Obviously, she does a lot of shows, she does a lot of broadcast, she’s a lawyer.”

Mike shared how he thinks Eboni will do on RHONY, adding, “Whatever Eboni does, she adds a lot to it, so she’s going to be a great asset.”

In Eboni’s first interview as a Housewife, she opened up to Essence about being the first Black woman to join the franchise.

“The franchise historically has not had a Black lens and now it will for the first time in 13 years. I’m beyond. I’m thrilled. I’m honored,” she said. “It is my great hope that my presence on this show will do it justice. Do Black women justice. Do our culture justice. I can only hope to touch on the magic that are Black women.”

Eboni, who is already friends with Leah McSweeney, also spoke about her excitement to establish friendships with the rest of the RHONY women.

“You know, I’m a Bravo fan like everybody else. One thing I take very seriously is meeting each one of these women in a real-life, authentic capacity—not bringing any preconceptions [based on] what I may or may not have seen on television before as a viewer or a fan,” she said. “These women are now a part of my real life, and a part of my real world, and I welcome all that comes with that. All the ups, all the downs, and all the bumps along the way. You’re gonna see me forming very genuine and authentic relationships with each one of these women.”
