Mike Shay Has Responded to the Emotional Vanderpump Rules Reunion... In Song
The #PumpRules ex has "officially close[d] a huge chapter" with Scheana Shay.
Following the conclusion of the Vanderpump Rules Season 5 reunion, Mike Shay has released a new track. Titled "Grind for the Check," the hip hop-tinged song features Shay spitting rhymes and venting about the end of his relationship with Scheana Shay. And he isn't being coy about who the song is about, since the video that accompanies the song features footage of his ex.
Shay doesn't hold anything back, criticizing his former wife and reflecting on their relationship. "Left me stranded, pissed off, and abandoned for the fame and fashion," he says. Later he references their second honeymoon, saying, "I enjoyed Hawaii too."
On the song he says that he's been "grinding" and "making some moves," and later notes, "I finally know what I am worth."
Part 3 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion featured a very emotional conversation between the two exes as they reflected on their split and what led to the end of their marriage. During the reunion, Shay also learned the identity of Scheana's new boyfriend, Robert Valletta. Shay confirmed that he had not yet started dating anyone.
Scheana later told E! News that she somewhat regretted her behavior towards Shay at the reunion. "I had sent him an email after the reunion because...I felt I was very harsh in certain parts of it, I felt a little cold in other parts of it," she revealed prior to the reunion airing. "And then, the way he found out about Rob, I felt I needed to just give a little more of an explanation. I felt like I just owed that to him because we've been friends for half our lives."
She noted that she never received a direct reply from her former husband, but she heard through a mutual friend that he had read it, and "that was enough for me," she said. "I've said my piece."
Below, check out more from the reunion.
