Mike Shouhed's New Business Is a Success

When A-listers like Demi Lovato and Damon Wayans need someone to help them haul their stuff from one fab home to the next, they call on Mike Shouhed. Since the Shahs of Sunset entrepreneur launched his latest venture, Royalty Moving, earlier this spring, his moving company has quickly amassed a celebrity clientele.

"My company's flourishing. We've moved a couple of huge stars," Mike told The Daily Dish. "We've become the exclusive moving company for a lot of buidlings in Los Angeles now. It's really awesome. And people love us. It's pretty awesome."

Of course those people include the "so cute" Demi (who recently split from her longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama) and the aforementioned comedy legend. "It's amazing. These stars, they have assistants and assistants' assistants. So her assistant actually found me through Instagram, through one of my posts. We actually moved her," he recalled. "[Damon] Wayans, his assistant was a fan of the show and was like, 'Hey, Mike, we want you to help us move. The craziest part is when I show up to the move. It's like, 'What are you doing here?' And I'm like, 'Dude, this is my company. I want to make sure you're happy.' So I'll show up randomly. I do quality control. I'm on top of all of it."

But Mike didn't go into the moving business just to hob knob with celebs. The idea for the business came during his separation from his estranged wife, Jessica Parido. During his move from his home with her to his new bachelor pad, a family heirloom was destroyed and Mike knew there had to be a better way to treat customers. He found Champs movers, bought it, and re-branded it as Royalty Moving. "I decided that I'm going be the company that would give white glove service, but real white glove service," he said, adding that the business was also an outlet for a lot of the emotions brought on by his split. "In the middle of my depression, I was so upset. I was so miserable," he said. "Out of my darkness and anger, came light."

Below, Mike opens up more about his seperation from Jessica.
