Miley Cyrus Says She's Gone Completely Sober Because She Knows What She Wants
“It’s easy, dude. When I want something, it’s f***ing easy for me," says the singer.
Miley Cyrus is back with Liam Hemsworth and saying goodbye to weed. Dating someone that hot must be kind of like smoking weed—disorienting and occasionally a full body sensation. In a new profile with Billboard, Miley rehashes a lot of the drama and changes that have been happening to her in the last few years, plus some new personal choices.
“This is crazy,” she tells Billboard, “But I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks!”
Miley says three weeks is the longest she’s ever gone without marijuana, and she’s going clean across the board.
“I’m not doing drugs,” she says, “I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.”
When asked if the change has been hard, she exclaims, “It’s easy, dude. When I want something, it’s f***ing easy for me. But if anyone told me not to smoke, I would have not done it. It’s because it was on my time. I know exactly where I am right now.”
And knowing where she is means she knows who she wants to be with.
“I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”
Miley isn’t the only celebrity to recently announce that they’ve gone sober. In an interview with GQ Style this week, Brad Pitt said he’s given up drinking and smoking weed since his split with Angelina Jolie. He now drinks cranberry juice and fizzy water in the evenings, joking that he has the “cleanest urinary tract in all of L.A.” That seems like a fair trade off.
Staying sober anywhere is hard, but probably when you own a winery and/or were a teen star, it's especially challenging. Congrats to both of them.
