Miley Cyrus Makes a Big Promise to Dad Billy Ray and, Yes, It Involves Robin Thicke
Miley returns to the MTV VMA stage and won't let us forget that time she twerked all over 2013.
The year was 2013. The place was the MTV Video Music Awards. And, the song was, of course, "Blurred Lines." When Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke joined forces for a performance at the VMAs that year, she danced around, against, and on the singer in a moment that is forever ingrained in our memories. And going into the 2017 broadcast — where Miley is performing yet again — she made a rather lofty promise to her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, about this year's event.
Miley may no longer be the twerking all over Robin, but she knows you'll probably never forget that time she did. Instead, she took to the stage during the 2017 show and performed her twangy new track "Younger Now" in a hot pink country-fried romper alongside older couples as well as little kids. It was a vintage-flavored honky tonk and far cry from her performance several years ago.
With yet another VMAs under her belt, Miley will next release her album, Younger Now, on September 29.
Lucky for you, we have some details about the release courtesy of her mom and sister. Take a look, below.
