Crystal Kung Minkoff Reveals Which Beverly Hills Housewife She Was "Warned About" — But There's a Twist
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer is already making friends with Housewives from other franchises.
In The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 11 premiere, the ladies of the 90210 welcomed the newest addition to the group, Crystal Kung Minkoff. During the episode, which aired on May 19, we got a glimpse into Crystal's gorgeous home, met her husband Rob Minkoff, who notably directed The Lion King, and learned about her approach to family planning.
We can't wait to see more of Crystal as this season of RHOBH continues, and thankfully, we got an even better introduction to the newcomer when she appeared with Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Garcelle Beauvais, Dorit Kemsley, and Sutton Stracke on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on May 19.
Crystal dished more on joining RHOBH while answering a speed round of questions from host Andy Cohen, who first asked who was the "most welcoming" toward her. "All of the girls were actually super welcoming, but I would say the one that stood out to me is Dorit," Crystal replied in the above clip.
Next, Andy asked, "Who were you warned about the most before filming?" Crystal shared, "I was warned — but surprisingly in a positive way — was with Lisa," which Lisa seemed to take in good humor and laughed.
In response to Andy's question about "who was the most different from how you thought they would be," Crystal said "for sure" Erika Girardi. "You know, she has that reputation of being cold," Crystal explained. "And I found her to be super warm and welcoming."
Press play on the above video to find out what else Crystal had to say about the RHOBH crew, including who she thought was "the most frequently overdressed or overglammed," who gave her "the most intimidating first impression," and who "came off as the most authentic."
During the WWHL After Show, Crystal opened up more about becoming a part of RHOBH after watching the franchise for all of these years. "Yeah, I've been a fan since day one, so it's totally surreal sitting here with the girls," she shared. "But it's a great show, and the girls are so great. So it's really fun to be here."
As someone who is so familiar with the show, Crystal thought she would be more prepared for what this season of RHOBH would bring. "So, I like to think of myself as a good student, and I studied, and I studied, and I rewatched it. And then I walked in and all of that went out the door," she said. "So it's unlike any experience you could study for or research, and you've just got to jump in. So, only these girls understand what it's like."
For further proof that you really can't anticipate what's going to happen while filming RHOBH, Kyle revealed during the WWHL After Show, "I have to say, the first time we met Crystal, she told us, 'I never cry. You will never see me cry. You will never see me shed a tear.' And then right out of the gate, she's crying."
Crystal admitted, "I was like, I'm never gonna live that down. I will never say never again."
Fortunately, Crystal has received support from a Housewife outside of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Dallas' Tiffany Moon. "We actually had dinner a few weeks ago. She was in town, and we connected just because this whole experience and being the first Asians on the show," Crystal said of her recent get-together with Tiffany. "And she had said just when you watch it back, it's really hard, and she had wished that she had not taken it so personally or maybe reached out to some of the girls, that she really had a hard time with it. And that was great advice."
Crystal said that the Beverly Hills Housewives have also given her guidance in lead up to the RHOBH Season 11 premiere. "Some of the girls in this group gave me the same advice. So I think I'm prepared," she said. "But again, I did that walking in, so hopefully I'll be OK."
